Sip Siempre – Handcrafted Passion, Pure Celebration.
Featured Product of the Month: Siempre
Arc Liquor is proud to shine a spotlight on Siempre Tequila, a handcrafted Mexican spirit that celebrates heritage, artistry, and perseverance. Born from passion and perfected through patience, Siempre transforms 100% Blue Weber agave into tequilas that embody both tradition and innovation.
Siempre Tequila's bottles are adorned with hand-drawn roses, symbolizing the brand's rise from adversity. Founded by Monica Sanita and Alex Lacroix, Siempre Tequila was born from a bold dream and a maxed-out credit card. In 2015, the duo quit their day jobs and risked a mere $9,000 (and some serious chutzpah on a credit line) to start a tequila brand from scratch. The name Siempre means “always” in Spanish – as in “always a reason to celebrate” – a nod to the founders’ philosophy of embracing every high and low life throws our way. In fact, the roses on Siempre’s label (a request from Monica’s mezcal-making grandmother: “no skulls on the bottle, please”) represent “beauty born from struggle,” a reminder that great things can bloom from hard times. From these scrappy beginnings and family inspirations, Siempre has grown into an international tequila darling, proving that “Celebrity Not Required” to make a splash in the tequila world.
From Agave to Glass: Crafting Tequila the Siempre Way
Making exceptional tequila isn’t about shortcuts – and Siempre’s production is as thoughtfully engineered as a classic car restoration. The founders drew on Monica’s Mexican agave heritage (her grandmother and great-grandmother still craft mezcal by hand and even send samples in old Coke bottles!) to ensure they did things the right way. That means starting with 100% Blue Weber agave harvested at peak maturity from rich Jalisco soil. The piñas (agave hearts) are slow-roasted in traditional stone ovens, not flash-cooked in industrial autoclaves. Once mashed (via good old-fashioned roller mills), the agave juice is fermented using a quirky “Mozart Method” – yes, they literally serenade the yeast with classical music – alongside a special blend of rum and champagne yeasts to coax out complex flavors. After a gentle double distillation in copper pot stills (no diffusers or turbo techniques here), the tequila that emerges is pure, smooth, and brimming with character.
Our Siempre Tequila Collection
To highlight what makes Siempre unique, consider a few of their custom touches in production:
Additive-Free, All Natural: Siempre proudly bottles “verified additive-free” tequila. No added sweeteners, flavorings or artificial coloring – just the natural goodness from agave and oak. This commitment to purity means what you taste is 100% authentic (a surprisingly big deal in a category where some brands sneak in extras).
Aging with a Twist: Instead of only standard barrels, Siempre rests its Reposado in large white oak pipones – enormous charred oak vats. This unique approach imparts subtle oak and vanilla notes without overpowering the agave, yielding a reposado that’s softly woody and balanced.
Highland and Lowland Influence: Siempre isn’t tied to one terroir. They’ve sourced agaves from both the highlands and valleys of Jalisco to layer in complexity. The result? A tequila that marries the highlands’ bright, fruity sweetness with lowland earthiness. Even the water used to bring down the proof is special – the Añejo, for example, is proofed with pure volcanic spring water for a touch of mineral zip.
Detail in Every Drop: From the hand-drawn rose label to eco-friendly packaging (bottles made from recycled glass, labels from agave and hemp fiber, and natural cork tops – all sourced within 100 km of the distillery), Siempre’s obsessive attention to detail shines through. It’s the craft and care you’d expect from folks who followed a passion rather than a corporate formula.
In short, the “Siempre way” blends old-school know-how with a dash of creative flair. It’s tequila crafted with the kind of dedication a gearhead might put into rebuilding a beloved engine – no component too small to tweak or polish. Now, let’s pop the hood on the real stars of the show: the Reposado and Añejo expressions that have spirit lovers buzzing.
Siempre Reposado – Smooth Riding Oak and Agave
Siempre Reposado shows off a light golden hue after a few months resting in charred oak vats.
Siempre Reposado is the intermediate stage in tequila’s life cycle – aged just long enough to pick up character from oak, while still keeping a foot in its fresh agave roots. Don’t be fooled by its pale straw color; this reposado is bursting with flavor. Aged 2–4 months in deeply charred American white oak vats, it emerges with a lovely harmony of spice, fruit, and sweetness. Take a sniff and you’ll catch baked apple and dried fruit mingling with a hint of vanilla and gentle oak. There’s a whisper of “biscuity” baked goods in there too – imagine the comforting aroma of vanilla wafers or fresh bolillos.
On the sip, Siempre Reposado is exceptionally smooth and subtly sweet, with honeyed agave, caramel, and warm oak unfolding on the palate. Those light fruity notes from the aroma carry through, reminiscent of apples baked with cinnamon and a drizzle of vanilla. The finish is clean and mellow, with just a touch of peppery spice to remind you this is a blue agave spirit at heart. Fans of bourbon will appreciate the similarity in feel – in fact, the Reposado’s soft oak-and-vanilla profile draws comparisons to an excellent bourbon, yet it never lets you forget you’re sipping tequila. It’s a gateway tequila for whiskey lovers and an everyday sipper for tequila aficionados.
Despite its elegance, Siempre Reposado doesn’t take itself too seriously. There’s a convivial, approachable charm here – the kind of pour you could bring to a backyard barbecue and convert a few “tequila skeptics” into true believers. It’s equally at home neat in a rocks glass or mixed into an elevated Margarita. But with flavor this balanced, we say keep it simple and savor it slowly. After all, this “rested” tequila has earned a little R&R of its own.
Siempre Añejo – The Crown Jewel of the Lineup
If the Reposado is a smooth cruiser, Siempre Añejo is the top-of-the-line grand tourer – richer, longer-aged, and built for pure sipping pleasure. This tequila spends 12 to 36 months resting in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, and the result is nothing short of luxurious. Pour a glass and notice the deep amber hue catching the light – a visual cue that you’re in for a decadent treat. The aroma wafts up with alluring notes of toffee, salted caramel, and cocoa, punctuated by creamy vanilla and a dash of peppery spice. It’s the kind of nose that makes you want to just keep inhaling (someone seriously needs to make a candle out of this scent!).
The first sip of Siempre Añejo is divine. Velvety-smooth and layered with dessert-like flavors, it coats the palate with a medley of caramel, chocolate, and vanilla – think of a rich flan or a slice of tres leches cake in liquid form, but with a spicy twist. Despite these indulgent notes, it’s beautifully balanced, never veering into cloying sweetness. In fact, a subtle undercurrent of black pepper and toasted oak keeps the profile intriguingly complex and grounded. Each sip seems to reveal a new facet: one moment you get a dark chocolate and cinnamon warmth, the next a whisper of dried fruit or nutty toffee. The finish is long, warm, and satisfying – it gently fades like the purr of a well-tuned engine winding down, leaving behind echoes of spice and sweet oak that invite you back for another go.
It’s no wonder this Añejo has garnered serious accolades, including a Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and Platinum at the SIP Awards. Critics praise its sophistication, but more importantly, it’s a crowd-pleaser among seasoned sippers – even our own team can’t stop raving about it. Pour it neat into a Glencairn or snifter to fully appreciate its aroma, and consider pairing it with a piece of dark chocolate or a handful of roasted nuts to elevate the experience (a serving suggestion straight from the distillers themselves). One taster fondly noted that Siempre Añejo is “a sipper you’d pair with flan” – and we wholeheartedly agree. It’s a tequila that invites you to slow down, savor the moment, and maybe even swap that usual after-dinner whiskey for a pour of this amber nectar once in a while.
Final Thoughts: Siempre Tequila is more than just another bottle on the shelf – it’s a story in liquid form. From a passion project fueled by grit and grandma’s wisdom to an award-winning craft spirit, Siempre’s journey is as smooth and satisfying as the tequila itself. Whether you’re a car enthusiast who appreciates something finely tuned or a discerning spirit lover seeking your next favorite pour, Siempre offers that rare blend of authenticity and excitement. It’s the rose that grew from concrete, the underdog that outperformed the specs sheet. So here’s to following dreams, toasting to the good and the bad, and finding beauty in every challenge – in a word, ¡Siempre! Cheers and salud!
